Corruption exists everywhere, but is not the culture in the UK as it is in the Philippines. The Church does not strangle the life out of progress as it does there. We don't see guns on every street corner, or in every shop doorway. We can argue about morality but the duplicity found in the Philippines I think gives them the edge in that department. Why then do I still love the place? It's the people. Always happy and willing to help. If only some of their problems could be solved, and they could, the country would really prosper again.
