Yes, of course, but the availability of guns, in the hands of the angry, drunk or simply poor is not a good idea is it? I don't buy the "self defence" and "protection" arguments with which the Americans justify their possession. Very strict controls over manufacture, import and possession won't stop determined criminals but would reduce the overall impact of guns on the majority of us. Knife crime is another problem, and more difficult to deal with. I don't pretend I have an answer to that but that is no reason not to remove guns from the scene.
