Tourist Visa is a mystery... i was lucky to have been granted b4.

Regarding your age...They raised the age to 21 last November 2008... So I think you will be having problems if you apply now because you are only 18.

welcome to the forum rith I guess spouse visa is the easier way to go, but i'm not sure about the age rules. Anyway, i hope things will work out for you. I'm sure you will get all the answers to your questions from the other members here in this forum. Goodluck with everything

    10 December 2008

New immigration rules came into force on 27 November 2008. They raise from 18 to 21 the minimum age at which a person may sponsor, or may be granted, entry clearance (including visas) or limited leave as the spouse, civil partner, fiancé(e), proposed civil partner, unmarried partner or same-sex partner of another person.

This reform is aimed at tackling the problem of forced marriage. We believe it to be important to protect young people from being forced into relationships they do not want at a time in their lives when they could be establishing a degree of independence as an adult through further education or through work. We believe that raising the age will provide an opportunity for individuals to develop maturity and life skills and to complete their education. It may also allow them to resist the pressure of being forced into a marriage. It will delay sponsorship for marriage until the age of 21 and allow vulnerable young people an opportunity to seek help and advice.

As a limited concession, the change in minimum age to 21 will apply only to cases where the UK-based sponsor is present and settled in the UK, or is being admitted for settlement on the same occasion as the applicant.
The minimum age of 18 will continue to apply to sponsors and their partners in those cases where the stay of a sponsor is subject to a time-limit (for example, students, work permit holders).

This is from the UK Border Agency Website.

Rutch...I don't think they will change this NEW Rule anytime soon. So I guess your options are to wait till you are 21 before you apply for a Fiance or Spousal Visa or you can try and apply for a Tourist Visa but make sure that you provide ALL necessary documents and study well why you were denied before.

How long have you been with your boyfriend?

18 is very young to get married and it seems you have no option but to wait to you are 21 which will give you plenty of time to make sure you are both making the right decision...

I agree with ELjohno, so just wait until you're 21. By that time you can tell if both of you still want to be together. Good luck!!!

Hi rutch welcome to the forum
IMO, even if you will get married to your brit fiance here in Phils, u still not qualified to apply for spouse visa because of your age. Best u can do is wait till you reach 21 before u get married so u will have plenty of time to know each other and enjoy each others company. And if you apply for tourists visa or student visa, immigration might get suspicious. it is just my opinion. other members here can give u a better idea

May i ask how long were u together with your fiance? your 18 and hes 49?

Ok,if you insist then...here it is....marry in PI then apply for visit visa w/c last 6 months (try your luck) there is no harm in trying thou...and besides visit visa fee is just 6k php...fair enough,at least you give it a try...because some members grant of visit visa also, just be honest on everything by telling the ECO that you are still 18 and you know the law is 21 for spouse visa.....
TRY !! and good luck (wink)

Rutch, every cloud has a silver lining,if I had an 18 year old lady who had to stay in Pinas for another 3 years due to visa restrictions I would tell her learn to drive and take some sort of Uni course so she wasnt coming here cold, use the 3 years constructively,do some sort of training, anything so you at least have a qualification when you arrive here, your guy can still visit you, theres really no rush when your 18 years old

Forward thinking Rutch, put the idea to him that a University or college course will benefit you BOTH in the long run, read some of the ladies experiences on here,it will give you an idea of what to expect, its also advisable to learn to drive, any idea which part of the UK your going to settle in?

Rutch,if your fiancee has already proposed marriage to you then he is serious about the relationship,so three years is nothing, its the blink of an eye to wait considering your going to spend the rest of your life together right?Any right minded individual realises a marriage is a partnership, both working towards the same goal, the same purpose, the same aim dont you agree? If he supports you now in your endeavours to study it also benefits him as he has a multi-skilled educated wife Pick a subject your interested in,find out about the courses, and those three years will pass very, very quickly, remember when you were 15?Seems like yesterday right?Likewise when your 21 and have the visa in your hand you will realise how fast time sometimes goes

    Dear Rutch,

First of all welcome here. You will be finding lots of great advices here, all your queries will be answered or simply using the search button helps.

We know where you're coming from... We know that you wanted to be here with your fiance/bf. As what they have mentioned above, there is no rush for you to come here especially now the Immigration Rules have changed regarding age.

You are 18 and even if you will apply for student visa, the ECO might/will still refuse you as the purpose of your application is to be with your bf/fiance.

Do not rush into things my friend. Take your time. Let your partner visit you again. As Tawitawi said, take a shortterm course or a college degree as this will help you in applying for a job once you are here. You do not want to be idle once you get here, do you? Enjoy your life while you are still young.

If your fiance/bf can wait then it is true love... If he can't then it's his loss!

    Take care & bless you!

Just Me & My friendly advice,
