    Thank you once again.

Hi, sorry I'm replying bit late.
Just been looking at the pages of UKBA - the validity of permit you've mentioned doesn't seems right to me, because if you take a look at this link (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/eu...sponsibilites/), they do not mention anything about validity. So I assume that your permit will be valid as long as you and your partner are permanently staying together in UK. May I ask where did you got that information?
Are you sure you didn't got it confused with some other kind of permit (visit visa or something)?
    Good luck to you

    Hi there.....

Yes...I think I'm already confused by the process.

What's really puzzling me and my boyfriend is what's going to happen after family permit? I know I need to apply for residence card which will take another 6 or 12 months. Stated in the family permit that it's only valid for 6mos, so what's going to happen after the 6 months family permit that the embassy will issue to me?

I hope I can get answers soon.

By the way, we are already working out on our civil wedding here in Malaysia. We are both busy and it's really a problem for us. I can only have two weeks vacation and he can only have 1 week.

Much as I want to have it in the Philippines, I don't think it's still possible. So, we will have it on August. Hopefully, we can settle everything and proceed to the application of family permit. Our goal is for me to be there by the end of the year. I am really praying for that because I don't think I can still afford to be so far away from him.

According to the Consular here, the MC from here is valid there in the UK.

There are some unanswered questions that I am trying to get answers by calling the embassies. To be sure, I will go to the Consular and British Embassy this coming June to confirm everything.

I hope those who undergo the family permit process will enlighten us how to go through with it.

By the way, thank you so much for clarifying it. I appreciate that you put link to explain it further.

I hope to meet and see you soon...You're such a great help.

    Cheers,

    Chancy

According to this (http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoap...snationals#Q27) you in fact DO NOT need a residence card but it is better to get one if you want to travel otherwise you will have to get EEA permit everytime you will be travelling abroad. So I will take it as the EEA permit DOESN'T have limited validity (6 months).BTW: For a residence card is possible to apply in person at their offices, then the application is processed and residency card issued the same day. But you need to phone them (not easy to get through the automated system and long waiting on line) and try to arrange for a personal visit/interview. For more info about rights and responsibilities of EEA citizens in UK take a look in here: (http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoap...swissnationals)

Not very sure about legal limitations for a wedding in Malaysia, but there might be a problem with your fiancees stay in there becuse it seems a bit short to me as many countries are imposing some limits for a marriage - for example in UK you have to be "settled" for at least one week before marriage can take a place, in RP it is even longer. But as i said - not sure about Malaysia.
    Best regards...

    Hi Ji&Ma,

    Good day!

Thanks for asking. We are currently in the process of completing the documents needed for our marriage here in Malaysia. Our problem now is the processing time of our documents. We'll never know whether our documents will arrive on time (really hopeful). I'm just praying that it will.

Both of us are really going crazy over the paperworks. sigh.

Really thankful to you for taking time to read my messages.

    Hope to meet you soon.

    Cheers,

    Chancy
