It's good to have money and the things that money can buy, but it's good to check up once in a while to make sure you haven't lost the things that money can't buy.
Isnt it frustrating that Home Office keep changing the rules. You really have to be on your toes. It seems that no-one has actually applied after Nov 25th 2008 so are advising based on what happened before that time. I think it certainly best to apply to Fil Embassy for a change of name beforehand. I think we will do that. But what sort of ID card we get ??????? This is the real issue! How would it affect things regarding employment, travelling etc etc if ID is in maiden name?
thanks for that TiN. What dates did your friend start applying from fiancee visa through to the ID card? Was it after 25th Nov 2008?
I live in London so no problem going to Picadilly Circus. I have been told by them that it takes 2 to 3 days to be ready. We will then collect it by visiting them again.

I have just been checking why I am restricted in my priviledges on this website. It looks like I need 15 posts to lift my restrictions. Therefore I now send this one more post to get it up to 15
will that solve the problem so that i have access to producing a profile?
If my wife (I am British) notifies Philippine embassy of our marriage will there be tax consequences of her earnings in UK. I mean will Philippine government use this notification to enforce a tax burden on her?
I was informed a number of years ago that if a Filipino was living in UK but as a Filipino national with Filipino passport that any earnings needed to be declared to both UK and Philippine tax offices. I wondered if the situation was the same or had changed?
As a Filipina is now my wife and soon she will be allowed to work here she will be paying UK tax but i wondered if Philippine tax office would notify her of her obligations if we told them of our marriage in Uk (as long as she still has a Filippina passport).
Have tax laws now changed then in Fil?
Loads of filipina living here for ages 8 years 10 years and more, but they dont bother or rather they didnt pay tax to PI,so I dont think so,anyhow for sure you will change your wife after 2 years her passport as british citizen isnt it ??
Ps.can u read my thread I had question to you too....lol as hubby go to work now...no one to ask eh
Think you have been informed incorrectly.
As I understand it "a non-resident citizen will be taxed only on income derived from sources within the Philippines."
It would be impossible for them to claim anyway - my wife would just state that she doesn't have an income of her own in the UK...
Best thing is to go on, Home Office website and Phil Embassy of London website all the neccessary info is there to read specially, that rules had been changed and more additional rules when it comes to settlement visa...and also talking about Taxes go to HM and Revenue....loads of info in there for you about taxes and benefits...

HI John
When i applied my flr 2007 same year as tin i ammended my passport and report my marriage in the PHIL embassy by post. I am holding a green passport. I use mrs in the flr form when i applied.
But....
I have a friend who applied recently and got her id card back. She did not ammend her passport because its different now her passport ( the brown) , she has to go to the PHil embassy i think to have it ammended, she just report the marriage then. In the form she mistakenly put miss instead of mrs so when she gets back her id its miss instead of mrs Where she should put mrs in the first place.
Hope thats help
Goodluck

But as you can see on my previous post, i have shared about one of my friend haven't got her passport ammended but when she gets her flr visa, still her maiden name on it, the lady from HO advice them to get her passport ammended before applying ilr so she can use her married name on it.... she applied 2007 same as Tin..
Maybe they have changed the rule now..
