    My wife was on a Work Permit and she couldn't apply for ILR until the last month. But as long as the application has been made, she could still work, even if it took them 6 months to process it!

    Thanks Jamesey, that puts my mind at ease. How do we apply for ILR? Is it the same process as FLR? I mean visit the same place etc. (with the only difference being the Life in the UK test of course)

    To be honest, I don't know! My wife was eligible for ILR without me and started the application process before we were married.

    There are probably other members here who can answer your question better than me.
