Your right, they have different procedure here in Newcastle. We were surprised also that the midwife came personally to our house for the first meeting together with a midwife student.

that sound nice! at least, you'll feel comfortable talking to them coz they have allocated their time especially for you, unlike in the clinic, with GP for example, they seem to be very busy, sometimes you just forgot to ask something important, hehehe!

    anyway, thanks for your reply!

    thanks ann!

i was just a bit worried coz i thought i heard it wrong regarding midwife's appointment, coz until now i still didn't hear from them. although i think i'm still at an early stage around 7weeks.

i did check it again with my pregnancy starter pack that they gave, it is stated there that i would be telephoned with a booking appointment once there will be midwife available, at around 8-10weeks.

They normally send you an appointment letter with the dates on it when to see them/ or in anyway they will phone you. Yes, you are right my midwife did checked me when i was 8 weeks pregnant.

The first routine check up would normally takes bet 1 to 2 hours checking everything with your medical history and hubby that would be your notes. Your notes/ or record that you will take with you everytime you have an appointment to see your midwife/gp/consultant.
