Ukay-ukay shops Actually the first time I ever got anything from an ukay-ukay shop was in march when someone bought me a pair of shorts in Pinas as I had forgotten my swimming shorts,I still have the shorts here at home As for UK oxfam type shops theres one in Weybridge, theres always loads of bags outside first thing in the morning that people have left there overnight,I have even seen harrods plastic bags as I walked past, always been tempted to peek inside

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

thanks for the reply Tawi2. You seem to be travelling all around the globe and knows almost every stuff to be talked about but not this one.
I have noticed that there is always a carboot sale on newspapers here but until now i don't have the chance to drop by to any of them. The ebay stuffs are items sold online, i suppose. Just don't know if they are the same stuffs...brand new or slightly used?

you made me laugh...pls don't check the bags, CCTV cameras are all over the town centers.

Why don't you try visiting one of the shops? So you have an idea what are those being sold there? As i have noticed you are an adventurer. You have been in all corners of the country you have visited, the Philippines in particular. You had experienced being with people coming from all walks of life, knew the life in the slums, stayed in a posh village, tried eating banana que.... etc.etc.

You know mostly about the Phils and the people more than the filipinos living in that country, but you missed these stuffs that are very English ( i suppose).... those are the carboot sale, ordering items on ebay and charity shops....

    Peace

    Cheers!

Mostly the items donated ARE slightly-used. But, from time to time, you'll find brand NEW - and frequently, BRAND NAMES - on display ... and selling for a mere fraction of the price you would pay for the same articles in the likes of Austen Reed, Debenhams or even M & S.

Donated brand new items and branded names on charity shops? How about in e-bay shops if they sell cheaper items are they for sure not donated goods?
