From my experience, the easiest way to be able to get a UK working visa is to apply for Tier 1 (General). No agencies, no placements fees. The hard part is to get a job when you're already in the country. Hay... took me 2 months to get a job. Even getting a bank account here is hard work.

You're right. Tough times in the UK. In fact, most of my nurse friends are on their way out of the country now. Most of them are going to Australia and others to Canada.
