as what mrsJmajor said you have good evidence that you are sole responsible for your kids.
i can't see any problem with that. tell your mum to make a letter also, stating that she's responsible for taking care of your children but it's you who make big decisions for them and she'll be happy that you'll be reunited as one happy family.
