    Evidence of Cohabitation; please HELP!

    I need your help guys

    Preparing ILR (SET-M) application is not easy.
    I’m stocked at Section 10 (Evidence of Cohabitation)
    “6 letters and/or others documents addressed to you and your partner at the same address“.

    A). Is it valid if “MRS & MR P. SMITH“?

    B). My name in our power bill is wrong spelling.
    Supposed to be “Nancy Smith” but it was “Namsy Smith“.
    Is it alright?

    C). Most of our letters were “Mr P. & Mrs N. Smith”
    Were this documents valid?

    I am worried because of my experience in the Philippines,
    I had trouble processing papers when my first husband died. “My youngest son’s name was miss spelt by one letter.”

    D). Lastly,
    In these 6 letters, is the date necessary? For instance,
    two electric bills (June & July 2008), 2 telephone bills (April May 2009) & 2 letters from a friend (Nov, & Dec. 2007) Is this alright?

    I’m really confused. Please do help me
    "Praise be to the LORD, for he showed his wonderful love to me when I was in a besieged city"...

    My Bornabirth, many is telling us that my husband is really lucky to have me. I sacrifice myself not to go for work coz i want to make sure everything is fine with him. He had extensive lung cancer but we never give up. Sometimes he is tellin me that if they refused my ILR, he better kill himself than to live in hearthaches and pain. Being together with peace and harmony is a great blessing for us...

    Hi Mrs. Happy Now! I understand the hardships you've been through, most of us Brit wives went through a very similar dilemma with the immigration. ILR I am sure is a straightforward application, my husband's been telling me it is nothing compared to what we've been through with the fiance' visa and the FLR application. He believes it is just a type of formality really (I think he just doesn't want me to worry too much). Anyhow, as long as you have those letters I'm sure you'll be fine. It might be a good idea to include letters from the NHS for you, letters from the council. Any letters sent to you by any 'organisation' that might help to convince them that you are still in the same address.

    I hope this will help you. Don't worry, you are not alone. Cheers!

    Hi gracia,
    I got loads of letters but its on my name only. since they only need 6 in our joint names i want to make sure that i submit the right one. electric, telephone, & water bills is already joint names. Can i submit 2 of them to make it six?
    Your help is highly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi happy_now, i think that would be fine too, since that will show thesame address as you have in those bills where you are joint with your hubby,
    also i think its best to secure as much evidence and proof as you can......
    but you can also wait for the advise of others here who got more ideas on this matter

    If you are going to submit letters with your name on it, let's say 2, also try to submit 2 letters that are addressed to your husband. I've read this from older posts and I think it makes sense.

    Hi Nymph

    If I were you submit more than 6 docs adrressed to you and your husband or both your names on it. When i applied earlier this month i submitted more than 20 docs with each our names on it and a few docs with both our names on it.

    Hope that helps.

    he's right, hiya gracia
    not many people have problems getting ILR

    just send you app when your suppose to, fill it in correctly, make sure you have the money to pay the fee in your bank, pass the life in uk test and gather your evidence

    your lucky its only 6 bits of evidence spread over 2 years, not long ago you needed to supply 20 letters or documents

    * telephone bills or statements
    * mortgage statements/agreement
    * bank statements/letters
    * council tax bills or statements
    * water rates bills or statements
    * electricity and/or gas bills or statements
    * tenancy agreement(s)
    * building society savings books/letters
    * letters or other documents from government departments or agencies, for example HM Revenue and Customs, Dept for Work and Pensions, DVLA, TV Licensing
    * letters or other documents from your GP, a hospital or other local health service about medical treatments, appointments, home visits or other medical matters

    To summarize, a total of 6 items are required and these must be spread evenly over the two year qualifying period..

    Thanks for coming to the rescue Joe! I'm sure Mrs. Happy_Now will be more than happy now. Yes, I think my letter from them still says 20 letters would be needed, it's good that they've changed it to 6. Phew!

    you only need 6 letters but spread out over the 2 years,
    but i would send more than 6 if you have them
    and the 6 letters have to come from at least 3 different sources

    from the ILR app form

    Note 8 We need 6 letters or other documents addressed to you jointly or in both your names. If you do not have
    enough items in your joint names, you may also provide items addressed to each of you individually if they show the
    same address for both of you. Examples of acceptable letters and documents are listed below. They must be originals.
    The dates of the letters or documents should spread over the whole 2 years. They should be from at least 3 different
    sources.
    Please give an explanation on a separate sheet if you cannot provide 6 items; if the documents are not addressed to
    both of you; or if they do not cover the 2-year period. If you and your partner lived with relatives or friends for some
    or all of the 2-year period, please provide a letter from the relative(s) and/or friend(s) confirming this.
    If you did not live together for any of the 2-year period, tell us the reasons for this and whether you stayed in contact
    with each other during this time, and provide any relevant supporting evidence.

    spread over 2 years , send the first one you have in your joint names, and the most recent, then try and space the other 4 letters btw the 2 years, but if you have more letters send them, as they might not count as evidence some of the 6 you sent
