    Electrical plugs in the Philippines

    Hi Folks,

I will probably bring my camera battery charger to Davao and was wondering whether the Phils had a specific type of plug like UK or USA? I have a multiple adaptor but I would be interested to find out in advance!

    Thanks for your replies!

yup. some hotels also provide one if you don't have one (but don't rely on it always).

USA style 2 pin, usually 220V, 50Hz - except brownouts

I've read that in some places in Philly the voltage is 125..but mostly 220..

seems there is a risk your charger may get damaged really..

Shouldn't be a problem using it as most equipment like chargers are multi-voltage nowadays anyway.

And if if it wasn't it shouldn't cause damage putting a lower voltage into it, it just may not work properly.

I used a UK origin shaver, laptop, camera charger + MP 3 charger, as well as an Israeli origin laptop, just using an adaptor, locally bought. No problems whatsoever
