If my fiancee were in the same position, I would have absolutely NO hesitation in sending money to her family to pay for her, but if she is out of hospital its easy to send money to her directly.
There is one person in her family I wouldnt trust, but other than that I wouldnt have a major issue.
I would also send money to get the blody wedding ring back as thats an issue that could cause serious friction even in the best of circumstances!
