Willie gives away P2 million cash

MANILA - Willie Revillame announced on Friday on his hit noontime show "Wowowee" that he received P2 million in cold cash allegedly from an anonymous donor.

Revillame said the cash was placed in 3 brown envelopes and delivered to his house on Thursday, July 30.

"Ito, binuksan ko kagabi, tatlong sobre at ang laman nito ay puro pera. Ito ay totoong pera at nakalagay sa envelope ay 'urgent.' Ang laman ng isang envelope ay P500,000, 'yong isa P750,000 at ang isa ay P750,000 din, a total of P2 million," he said.

The host, who reportedly earns P1 million a day, said he "does not need the money." Thus, after consulting his lawyer, he decided to give away the money to charity.

"Tutal, sa akin na po ito. Gusto kong makita niyo at ayaw kong naglilihim sa inyo. 'Yong P500,000 ibibigay ko sa Bantay Bata. 'Yong P500,000 ibibigay ko sa 71 Dreams Foundation, 'yong naulila sa stampede. 'Yong P500,000 ibibigay ko po sa mga OFW na hindi makauwi na nandoon pa din sa Dubai," he said.

"'Yong P100,000 ay ibibigay ko sa conjoined twins, 'yong dalawang ulong bata. So, may P400,000 na matitira, 'yong P400,000 na 'yon ay ilalagay ko na...sa 'Wowowee' yon, para sa mga batang hindi nakakapag-aral at sa mga batang kapos sa kaligayan. 'Yong P400,000 na 'yon ay dito na sa 'Wowowee'," he added.

Revillame thanked the person who gave the P2 million cash because it enabled him to help those in need.

"Hindi po ako naghahangad ng malaking pera. Ang hangad ko po ay maraming tao ang matulungan at mapasaya," he said.

Willie helped so many people from his programme Wowowee, and Im very happy to hear the latest news (above) that he gave away P2 million for those who need like Bantay bata, OFW's and the two headed-baby.

I hope people who doesn't like Willie (for sometimes being quite rude) will appreciate the work he have contributed for the poor Filipinos.

I also think ABS-CBN and Wowowee programme have done a good job compare to the corrupted government.

Willie is such a fantastic host that's what he is coz he's sense of humour really make the filipino people laugh,so lively and jolly, laughter is the best thing in the world to make you forget about problems even me everytime i watch wowowee i really LOLits really funny you wouldn't want to watch a program that is so boring... it's the only noontime program that has international audiences and gets dollars and pounds and been all over the world.

I thank him for helping some OFW who held in Dubai.

Last year on my way home and had stop over there, I met an Oil tanker seaman.
He sat in between me and a filipina married to a German in the plane. We talked and found out that he is one of the seamen who jailed and stranded in other country. He said there were many filipinos still in jail and he is the only one who freed at the moment. He was wearing only slippers/flip flops dirty pants and T-shirt. He cried while telling his story and me and the other lady ended up in giving him money and chocolates for his kids.

They really needs help as our gov't can't fully help them.

There are a lot of ofw's here in Dubai that is stranded because their fellow kababayan's (can you believe that?! ) victimize them on illigal recruitment. Its just sad that the goverment is not doing anything to help them.

That is definitely a great news for our fellow kababayans here in Dubai. Knowing that help will be finally on the way. And thanks to him for that great deed.

But him finding bulk of money just like that? I find it unbelievable. Publicity stunt maybe.

But honestly, I am not a fan of the guy and of the show. I dont find him genuine enough in terms of helping and giving other people
joy and happiness. I just dont feel it.

You're right in some of your views Tawi. He needs popularity. When there were numbers of people who got stampede and died during his shows, Many people doesn't want to watch his program that time. Viewers were promised to be given huge money on that day so viewers came from different parts of Philippines who wish to escape from poverty. But it was not happened and had stampede that made people died. I felt upset and couldn't imagine that. What a tragedy that was shocked people of the Philippines.
