    Calls FROM Philippines

What is the best service provider for mobile phones in the Philippines? We seem to have constant problems getting through to each other. In particular, her texts often just don't arrive here even though she gets charged.

She is in Angeles City. Looking for pay as you go sim card. Any suggestions very welcome.

I can't say anything best but when I was still there i used to have Globe sim prepaid.. I think that's usual problem I remember one time we argue about silly txt didnt arrived on time or he didn't receive it so what I did I rang him first b4 I sent the txt and if it's so important I used chikkatxt from my pc so free of charge to my side but when he got it, it's charge him

    i got globe sim

I usually call my BF using my globe sim card, It works well for me.. it didnt charge me for missed calls (when my bf has left the phone in his jacket pocket) .. When A voice mail prompt answers, i got 3 pesos deduction from my pre paid load..

I call him coz Pinas calls are better than UK calls, we are charged at Peso while UK is at Pound... Lucky HIM........... he wont spend for calls like I do

THE BEST is GLOBE SIM CARD...'coz she can call you for only 9pesos/min.....just use 128 before your number in UK.....like 12800447......etc..

Thanks. I will advise Globe Sim - but still cheaper for me to call her at 7.5p per minute with teletop.

Have you tried VOIP? I had my VOIP in my laptop before in Pinas and I can call my hubby for free from pc to landline. You need to register and download which cost only few Euros.

I just bought 2 mobiles (3G SKYPE) today to take home soon. We'll see if I can send text message for free. I have also my SKYPE account and my family use it to call me here. Let's also see if they can call me free from Philippines PC Skype account to my 3G Skype here. I'll leave my skype pay as you go in Pinas and see if I can send text message for free.

I have smart roaming but everytime I send text message it cost 20p

Penny, your technologically advanced, when your in Pinas see if you can find a solution to our "Smart roaming" conundrum as I also have one

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

    Thanks Tawi!

I used VOIP long time ago about way back 2004.
It was great and used that in my shop to earn more dosh lol.

Skype is almost the same but you need to top up whilst VOIP is renewable after 3 months.

Going back a bit now but.. (when cell phones were the size of a breeze block)[Memories melody drones]
I was flat broke in the UK and had to contact the other half..She would have to get down to the PLDT operator assisted long distance office to call me..
Meanwhile back in London in a freezing cold red telephone box I would wait for the call..
So the phone rings and I pick it up..(as you do) and this Philippine operator asks me if my name is Fred? Yes I always replied (as you do if your name is Fred right?)
Then she asks.."Mrs Fred is calling and is asking if you would accept the charges there?
Bloody cheek!!! So being the softy that I am I say "yeah OK grrr" ..
Oh we would speak for hours sometimes!! (or till the queue outside lost its Patience!!

Hahaha! I bet those calls were well worth the cost though.
