    Reco Hotel In Manila

    Hi folks,

I am going to manila in Oct to meet my lovely girfriend.

I am finding it hard to choose a hotel as so many of the 3 or 4 star hotels have bad reviews. So in the interest of security etc I think I will go for a 5 star. Its only a 7 day stay, otherwise I could not afford 5 star LOL

    My favorites are

Shangri La Hotel Manila Makita City
    The Diamond Hotel
    The Peninsula Hotel

    All advise welcome & thanks

Shangri-La is fine but has ladies of the night in the bar - as if you can't find them anywhere else if that is your thing! Makati hotel much preferable to Edsa/Manila one.
Peninsula Makati is wrong side of the road.
Renaissance, Mandarin & IC are no more than OK as supposed 4/5*.

Personal preference is the Ascott. Huge, modern, well equipped suites. Private despite being on the Ayala centre. Nice pool and pleasant breakfast room.

Somerset Milllenium is nice and can be a bargain at the quality level.

    Don't know The Diamond.

the only hotel we went back to more than once was the (was WESTIN) PHILIPPINE PLAZA , mainly because of the large grounds/ swimming pool etc, bay view ..

Hello there, you can also try Sofitel Hotel (formerly known as Westin Philippine Plaza)......great hotel, in my experience
food were superb, hotel staff were excellent and the view of the manila bay as well as the hotel garden from your room balcony is just splendid
