    Appraisal Vs Resignation...

A newly joined trainee engineer asks his boss "what's the meaning of appraisal?"
Boss: "U know the meaning of resignation?"
    Trainee: "yes I do"
Boss: "So let me make u understand what an appraisal is by comparing it with resignation"

    Comparison study: Appraisal and Resignation

In Appraisal meeting they will speak only about your weakness, errors, and failures.
In resignation meeting they will speak only about your strengths, past achievements and success.

In Appraisal you may need to cry and beg for even 10% hike.
In resignation you can easily demand ( or get even without asking ) more than 50-60% hike.

During Appraisal, they will deny promotion saying you didn't meet the expectation, you don't have leadership qualities, u had several drawbacks in our objective/goal.
During resignation, they will say you are the core member of team; you are the vision of the company how can you go, you have to take the project in shoulder and lead your juniors to success.

There is 90% chance for not getting any significant incentives after appraisal.
There is 90% chance of getting immediate hike after u put the resignation.

Yes it does worry me, but not to extent of losing my job.

it worries me, that such large influx of immigrants, if left unchecked, will create housing problems for local people, put the NHS under a bigger strain than it is now, increase council taxes even more.
They will not pay income tax or anything else, because it will be mainly black economy, and hardly contribute, as nearly all the money they earn will be squirreled away to their own countries.
Crime rates will soar, more uninsured drivers on non MOTed cars on the road.
Traveling on business, I see some real sheds with foreign plates on the road.

I saw all this happen in Germany in the early 70ies.
It took the Jerries years to sort the mess out, and they are still suffering now. But at least they have definite quotas. Not something that this govt. is prepared to do.
I arrived in the Uk on the 4th septenber 1974, with a contract of employment and accomodation already in place. Since then, I have been unemployed twice, for a total of 7 months. I paid all my taxes and NI contributions, and lately I was told that I will have to retire 6/7 years after my 65th, because there is no money in the kitty. Who's had his fingers in it????
I welcome immigration, but only if it is genuine, above board, and they all pay their dues like me, you, tom, dick and harry.... Oh... and Keith.
