    Question 18,500 pounds/annum be enough???

thats the salary of my husband every year...would that be enough for the Embassy people to think that my husband can support me financially? He is living in Norwich not in London,so I think the expenses would be a little bit lesser and that make her money quite big in his area he is living (but not in London lifestyle though)...So please people tell me what you have to say...Thank you in advance...

It's not about the amount of money he earns, it about whether he has enough spare money to support you. For example he could be living for nothing with parents or in a house he owns outright, or he could paying a lot of money on rent/mortgage for a large expensive house.

People have had visas granted when their income is a lot less than £18500, but I also suspect there have been others who earn more than that who have been refused.

    hi..darren-b

well..he is living on his own...and he is renting from Local authority..and he got some papers aswell, together with some certificates and a letter from the Council that I am allowed to stay in his 1 bedroom flat. do you think that would be okay then? he is spending at least 500 pounds every month of all the bills. and he got 700 pounds left to keep him going??...

If he's got £700 left over after he's paid his rent for the month, as long as he doesn't have any other major expenses or debts to pay off, I think that should be plenty enough for you both to live on.

    hi there IainBusby..

well Im pretty sure that he doesn't have any of those..but 700 pounds though minus the money he needs to send to me every month....lol and oh?? just 1 more thing, he doesn't have any savings coz of our situation..(we've been together for 3 years since 2006) he's been here in the philippines 5 times already...

    1. he send me money every month
    2. he visited me in the philippines twice a year and stayed here for 2-3 months
    3. he then again back and visited me again last 6th of june 2009 but not stayed for too long coz of his work

( I mean I hope it shows that he must have savings by now if Not with LDR situation, and that would stop if were together)...

Q: you think its okay if he doesn't have any savings

it would be better if he had savings
but as long as you can show that you are able to support yourselves financially on your income you should be ok, thou without savings your risk of refusal may increase. After paying rent or mortgage and council tax you should have a minimum of £100.95 left per week.

You also need to think that the ECO will not just base on salary/income, they'll also look on supporting documents ie. proof of relationship -which I can see he's been spending a lot of time there with you, accommodation, etc..

when are you applying for your visa ?

he has £0 savings ?, hows he going to pay for your visa and flight going to be £1,000+

can he not borrow say £250 a month off his family ? for the next few months, and spend little as possible so, maybe in 3 months he'll have £1,000+ in the bank??

Baby, dont worry,he sounds as if he loves you very much and is making a lot of sacrifices for you,I hope this is taken into account and best of luck for your future together

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

    Joe is right.

Save atleast £1k in the bank (6 month bank statement will do) for show money or use for your flight ticket incase your visa has been approved. I think you're both prepared and ready to apply for your visa when you have a little show money. You seems have a genuine realtionship.

    What about accommodation?

and its not much good a member of his family giving him £1000+ now and him putting it in his bank, because the embassy will be suspicious where the money has come from, better he gets some money each month off his family and lives on that and saves some of his wage.

or if a someone will lend him money for your visa and flight, so he doesn't have to pay for it, and he can save that money instead.

keep us updated Babykie. We have similar situations. As for now, i haven't applied for the spouse visa yet...

I was thinking of waiting another 6mos and my husband could save... we will have a handsome bank statement by then.

I WOULD GO FOR IT NOW YOU BEEN TOGETHER 3 YEARS YOU ARE MARRIED

he has a job [its not a contract]? he has a regular income

he has accomadation and a letter from the council stating you can live there

it does not cost a lot extra to look after you

you said you have the visa fee ?

i would imagine he has a few credit cards so he could get a little cash if he was desperate

    GO FOR IT GIRL
