    Child British Passport

    Hi guys,

    Has anyone here applied there kids british passport here in UK? my daughter was born before July 2006 not applicable for automatic brit passport for child born after July 2006

    I was going to send my daughter's british passport application using CHECK & SEND at the post office and the guy there said:

    NO need for my Hubby's Birth Cert.
    NO need for hubby's British Passport

    Only documents needed are:

    Child's Birth Cert.
    Parent's Marriage Contract
    Child's Phil Passport
    Mother's Phil Passport
    Passport application form


    Need help guys , thanks for all ur help in advance cheers

    is it your husbands child or step child?, also if it's your husbands child were you married to him b4 the bb was born ?

    Hi joe, yes my hubby's child & me ,
    No we got married 3-4 months after our daughter was born. she was born sept and we got married jan

    yes i already have it and that's the one I'm going to send for her application. Is that the BC with remarks on the side saying legitimate by virtue of subsequnetly marriage

    yes, so i think you're daughter is British by descent.

    but i think you need to send your husband's birth cert or passport.


    you should phone up 0300 222 0000 and check.

    You can do it online. They will send the form to you then have it checked and send. Goodluck

    Thanks joe but when i went yesterday to the post office and they check it they said no need for us to send my hubby's passport and hubby's Birth cert coz the guy there said passport services at glasgow already have those details as long as we filled up the form properly :(

    hi ann thanks, the post office already gave me a new form as my hubby's friend made a mistake

    well if thats what the guy at the P/O told you, but i would have thought they want to see evidence your husband is a British citizen.

    yeah i know, that's why im confuse on what to send really as on the documents needed it says father's BC and fathers passport

    good luck to my daughter's application as the P/O says different documents from the IPS list

    i'm sure when i phoned up the IPS (identity and passport service) they said i would have to send my birth cert or passport. might have been even both, it was a while a go, and i can't remember

    I know what u mean joe coz i phoned them too before MAY this year and they said my hubby's BC or passport and marriage cert. maybe if i go to P/O again then its a different person they might ask a different doucments so I'll just bring everything on the IPS list to be sure and hopefully it will be next week.

    Your husbands birth certificate is usually enough to prove his nationality, after all the BC was the basis upon which his passport was issued. However, just go with the flow, and include the passport..

    Hi guys, i already sent my daughter's british passport application today, the P/O check it and these are the documents I sent: child's BC, parents marriage contract, child's phils passport and father's british passport will that be fine, i hope, and thanks for all your help.
