Belfast dude, I think that's great you're learning. It is so important when marrying a women who speak another language to be able to speak each others.
I've begun learning Tagalog with Pimsleur. It's hard, but being able to sepak "In the Language of her Heart" for my girlfriend is so important, and nice for her I think.
Learning Tagalog means I will be able to communicate with her parents and other family members. It also means that if/when we have children, brining them up speaking both English and Tagalog from birth is easier, and better for everybody, including her family in Philippines.
Learning a foreign wife's language is a very important, often forgotten, step to take.
