Wink Confused about where to have chest xray

    Hi all,
I have searched and read a lot of intresting post, but am still confused, if I should advise my wife, who is coming here on a settlement visa at the end of September to get a chest xray in the Philippines or leave it and have one at Heathrow "if" they need one?
Also if she does have an xray at Heathrow how long could it take to clear imagaration?
I ask becouse I will be travelling to Heathrow by coach from Southampton to meet her and am trying to work out a best return time ticket to book.
    Thanks for any thoughts.
    mick.

Word same here the missus was one of only a few there early in the morning. Worth checking what other flights likely to be in on the day you fly in. Checking the flights on line on Heathrows website should give you a good idea.

Maybe if any doubts about her health its worth checking out first I guess
Oh lord why did you make so many clothes and shoe shops

    hi
ive already got my fiance to get one in Phils, cheap and quick. it could save her a lot of time, immigration may be busy and in no great hurry to process her through the x-ray.

As Iain pointed out it is TB screening and I think it is done more or less "randomly" on travellers coming from RP to UK for settlement...
He can get it in Phils or leave it "on chance" to the airport - he might be or might be not screened...
If he will be screened on the airport it will cause a some delay to him to clear immigration definitely.

    Hello Mick,

When I came last Feb. in Heathrow on settlement visa, they didn't ask for my chest Xray or didn't ask me to have one.Well,I guess they do it randomly.

Not all airports ask for the chest X ray at arrival.
Not all airports have X ray facilities.
Sometimes the local health authority will request an X ray after registration.
For what it costs in time and effort I would suggest your wife have the chest X ray taken in a Philippine hospital.
My wife had a X ray taken before she left Philippines, she entered UK at Newcastle, they did not ask her for an X ray and the local health authority has not requested it either, what it gave us was peace of mind that she was clear of TB and that if she was asked for an X ray she had one ready to present.
