thanks..
oh, you can also suggest other airlines... preferably with more baggage allowance...![]()

There once was a girl that believed in mankind, that there was still honor and chivalry that existed in everyone of us. She also believed that everyone deserves a chance to prove oneself individually and hoped that the courtesy would be returned. That girl is dead now, and all that is left is her shadow. To give one a chance to prove thyself is a chance for you to become dwindled in the dissappointment.
I wasn't very impressed with Qatar, never being with Etihad. Malaysian were good my best trip was with philipines to hong kong then virgin to heathrow great service. Singapore were good also but not the cheapest.
btw well done on getting your visa florge![]()

Hi Florge![]()
Take a look at Expedia - flights to compare the flights.
Me personally and my Maricel like more the route via Hong Kong with Cathay and/or British Airways - one of the shortest options and can be very chepa as well![]()

... a word of warning about QATAR AIRLINES.
Excess baggage was quoted at 60 per kilo.
"60 what ?" we asked via the phone to both Qatar Airline offices in
Cebu & Manila.
"60peso" was the reply
"Wow... that's cheap" we thought.
Fast-forward 2 weeks to Manila Airport, Qatar Airlines check-in desk.
"Your luggage is 8 kgs overweight.. that will be 8 x 60 US DOLLARS...
$480 please"
... we settled on $80 after a series of arguments.

Hi Florge,
I haven't tried yet those airlines you have mentioned. If your primary concern is the number of kgs allowed then you will compromise the connecting flight schedule and comfort or vice versa. When i travel i consider the waiting time and/or the route before i board on to the next flight.
There is a member here who had sent her baggage to the UK thru post office and just cost her something like P6K ( i will check with her again). Pls do check the Fed Ex charges as well (somethng like P9K/10 kgs and a fraction for every kg added) This was in 2008 when i left the Phils so perhaps amount of charges has changed. We feel more relaxed sending from the Phils to the UK than vice versa. So don't worry they will be safe.
In my latest trip back to the UK i chose Asiana Airlines and services were just fine (Seoul to UK)as to food and services, but the flight from Phils to Seoul was not that good. Well, the touch down was too bumpy!. I chose Asiana bec there was an 8- hour waiting so i did joined a group of tourists and was able to see the beautiful country for a day
. It was chilly and foggy there and it was the month of April!
Cathay Pacific is also good.I only had 40 minutes before the connecting flight. I had a short trip by train to be on the next flight. So I made my steps bigger and made double time for the airport in HK is too big....
, my steps are too small...
If i were you i will just send my baggages thru DHL, FedEx or the Post Office (whichever you're comfortable with) rather than sacrifice my comfort.
Best of luck Sis... See you soon!..
Cheers!![]()

My wife came with KLM when she first came to the UK. I told her to try to weigh her suitcase before she left but she never got round to it, so when she arrived at NAIA she was nearly 12 kilos over, but she managed to bribe them with P1,000. I don't think a foriegner would ever get away with that.
Iain.
Flown with both Etihad and Qatar, and both I found were fine.
My bags were 20kg at home - 20 kg at Heathrow - 24kg at NAIA!!!! - and then 20 kg when I got to my hotel in Manila!!! I was charged excess at NAIA!!!!
What else can I say but dirty, lying cheats!!!!!
I love the Phils. but I hate the attitude to foreigners!!

Sorry - when I got to my hotel in Cebu - mysteriously, my bags gained 4kg from international arrivals to domestic departures!!

been with KLM twice.....and i was happy considering i do not like flying...lol...the cabin crew were very nice and helpful...good service....i will use KLM again.....9/10
POWER TO THE PEACEFUL. MABUHAY IRELAND AND PHILIPPINES
we travel with KLM & EMIRATES everytime we go to the far east![]()
I used to fly to Philippines with Qatar, but they seem to have got a bit more expensive recently. Qatar Airways were great. Their planes were new, always on time and the food was fine.
But now I always fly via Hong Kong since it's quicker and there are loads of connections to Manila and Cebu. I've found that the cheapest option is to get a flight to Hong Kong (I've used BA, Cathay, Air New Zealand) then get a cheap Cebu Pacific flight to Philippines.
I almost always travel with KLM, always been treated well and I find the pattern of one short leg, one long leg, with short stop over in Amsterdam is prefereable to two long flights.
It's worth checking their direct online booking tool just now as there are some really really good prices, lowest I've seen is 419 return!
Jim
thanks everyone!!!
Truly appreciate your views...
Happy trip FLorge
