My husband and I are checking our documents for flr(m) and we're confused now whether to send photocopies of each or not. We used search function but still unsure, any response would really appreciated.

Are you using the form dated 04/2009 as the guidance notes and form are very clear compared to others I have seen...The only mention of photocopies is where it says 'documents must be originals and copies of any type are not acceptable'.
We didnt even submit photocopies with our Settlement visa application. The thing was big enough as it was.

We applied for our FLR about 4 weeks ago and didn't submit any photocopies and there was certainly nothing in the form and guidance notes saying that was required.
Hi - we are in the process of applying for FLR, however I dont wish to send my passport as I need it for stupid RYANAIR flights.
I note that the formal documents can aslo be :
evidence of ordinary residence for the last
three years: notice of income tax coding, driving licence, building society savings books /bank statements, National
Insurance or National Health Service registration issued by the Department for Work and Pensions or a local health authority.
I can send my driving licence, but this was renewed last year.
I tried ringing the number on the website, but couldnt get thru.
Maybe bank statements with my address on them would be enough?
any suggestions (other than dont fly RYANAIR!)
THANKS
how are they going to put the FLR vignette in your passport, if you dont send your passport
They don't anymore ...... you get an ID card instead !
But, if Little Fingers is Pinoy, then the passport has to be sent, and is only returned at the
end of the process.
If Little Fingers is the British/Uk husband, u still have to submit your passport, but you can
request it back (before the end of the process). But I'd suggest u give them at least 2 weeks.
FYI... I requested my passport back, and got it within 5 days
(... and before u ask, NO, it did not speed up the process of getting the FLR for my wife)

sorry - I should have said littlefingers (me) is a UK man. My new wife is applying, and I have just got thru to the help advice and they confirm I have to include my passport. It is not optional.
It is useful to know that I can possibly request it back which will help with ryanair flights.
thanks for the information.
argh.. yeah... i am about to submit mine as well... one pinay though told me that UKB was as fast as lightning in accepting her payment.. but was not as fast in sending her her FLR.. they are yet to send her a letter on where to go for her biometrics...
it's been almost 3 months now since she applied...
anyone here who's waiting for their FLR and how long now?
3 months is probably right for waiting for FLR and ILR now, use to take only 4wks a couple of years ago..
your friend should have her visa very soon i think
... I'd advise your friend to call & ask why she's received no letter to make a biometrics appointment.
We received our "advice letter" (for a biometrics appointment) within a week - 10 days of submitting
the FLR application, and we got it done 5 days later.
This is not the first time this has been mentioned (no receipt of biometrics appointment letter, or long
time after the FLR docs have been submitted), and I'm unsure if there's a flaw in their system.... or it's
a deliberate attempt to drag out the process.
