It's different though, because I'm talking very broadly about the national perception.
I mean, in the UK, most regular working class people will think of Filipinos as "Hardworking, faithful, educated, caring (as in nurses lol).
The flipside is here in the Philippines, most regular working class people see foreigners as
- Cash Cows
- Abnormally Big Bodied
- Suckers
- Assume they're americans.
The point I'm trying to make is, here in Philippines, those small minded, racist stereotypes are held by the majority of the ordinary people, with an elite few who think in a non prejudicial way.
Whereas in the UK, where we're socialised to value multiculturalism, the small minded, racist community are very very fringe, and not mainstream at all.
That's my 2 peso's worth.
