when you get there, you get a 21 day visa, just renew it on day 20 and you're cool (and so on).

If you did want to stay in the Philippines, take your wife on a holiday to outside the Phils and when you come back get a free Balikbayan visa for a year!

    you don't want feuds.

if you have problems with technicalities talk to

    -Peterginab
    -Aromulus
    -Joebloggs
    -Somebody

I'll do my best from my experience to help, but I made a lot of mistakes in the process of getting married here.

Those 4 above know all there is to know between them to stop any feuds from happening.

    peace

that way would be beneficial in that you can get to adjust to married life together right away, without you having to run back here.

Just so long as you're financially prepared. 500 quid a month is good to live a moderately comfy life here.

but living here is another matter, although, I guess it depends on what quality of life you want. Just breathe, read the other few messages I put for you here....

100 a week is 400 quid, alth0ugh, the pound is about 74 peso right now ... looking bad ... My budget for the last year was about 450 per month, definitely overshot.

Next to the fire station,I saw two women fighting outside it back in March,at the small coffee/eatery place to the left hand side, loads of screaming and shouting

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

See if you get married in PHIL, do they still do that sexual counselling marriage interview stuff at the churches to see if you are a compatible couple.
    See what i mean here:

In the town where you wish to marry, you must attend at the Local Rural Health Unit, you must attend for Pre-Marriage Guidance and Sexual Health Counselling

This does seem of course to be an absolute Joke in this day and age, since no doubt, many of you sponsors are on either your 2nd marriage, or more importantly are well along in years, however, it is a requirement for you to obtain a marriage licence, so you cannot side step it, some people attempt to get around it by paying for the certificate to be obtained without sitting in on the pre-marriage counselling, that is of course entirely up to you, if you are able to pay an 'express' fee to avoid the counselling, good for you, its worth it.

THEN you must also undergo the pre marriage seminar which is an 8 hour snooze fest in the local language delivered patronizingly sponsored by the government.

The only way for you to obtain a balikbayan visa would be to enter the Philippines together with your Filipina wife.

Other way is to enter alone, normally, with the customary 21 days visa from immigration, and have it renewed at the usual intervals.

Hi swarze Im not james but I can tell you that the Balikbayan visa is a priviledge given to the spouse and dependents of Fillipina/os returning to the phils after an absence of a year or more

Sometimes they are awarded after a trip for example to Hong Kong for the weekend cant think why

I presume your in the Phils now having got married? I havnt read all this thread or looked up your posts but if you are and intend staying there are other options 13a for example or you can of course just keep renewing every 59 days for a year or so and then leave to hong kong return the next day and start again

The first 21 days is a visa waiver whith in that time you apply for an extension at the local office which gives you 59 days and last year cost 2570 piso

then befor that expires you apply for a further extension 59 days which WAS 3800
and so on if your there longer than 6months you will have to get exit clearance get fingerprinted etc befor leaving but if you exit for the day and return it all starts again that could of course change without notice.

This has been mentioned before, but the extension visa seems to vary in price, depending how much they want to rip you off for.

When I extended mine for 59 days, it cost 5000 something.
I remember Arthur saying his varied in price too.

Its probably improving slightly now as its all computerised no more room for the fixers plus if you do try that route it will be picked up on exiting as its a central system the expreess line fee is still a subject of debate

PS dont forget to keep all and any reciepts that are printed on grey paper with all the costs dont settle for just the handwritten bits on the stamp in your passport
