    another typhoon

    sorry to bring bad news to the site...but another typhoon is about to hit philippines and they say it will be worse than pepeng

    Synopsis : At 4:00 p.m. today, Tropical Storm "PEPENG" {PARMA} was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 50 kms North of Laoag City (18.7°N, 120.6°E) with maximum sustained winds of 105 kph near center and gustiness of up to 135 kph. It is forecast to move South Southwest at 12 kph. Meanwhile, Typhoon "QUEDAN" {MELOR} was located at 900 kms East Northeast of Basco, Batanes (24.4°N, 131.0°E) with maximum sustained winds of 165 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 200 kph. It is forecast to move North at 22 kph.

    there is also talk of the two typhoons combining to form a fugiwhara effect.....

    pepeng and quedan...

    I did mention this 5 days ago, you could see it forming if you watch the cloud movements on Google Earth. In US hurricane seasons you can watch them form in mid-africa

    I wouldn't worry about this at all as Parma remains more or less stationary over north of Luzon and Melor is on its way to make landfall in Japan any day soon...
