Angry Calling automated robots on helplines

Do you talk to inanimate objects when you phone the phone company for help. I hate talking to these things. Drive you nuts

You are held in a que, but we cannot be bothered to pick up the phone.
    For existing customers press 1
    For non-existing customers press 2
For speaking to an operator press *

Here is Marcus Brigstocke talking of the company that will not be named because we love to hate it

It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum. And I'm all out of gum.

KNOW the feeling ... only too well! Think we ALL do, nowadays. When I was a young man in my 20s, you could simply pick up the phone, dial the number you wanted and ..."Bob's your uncle" ... you were connected more or less straightaway. None of this "farting around" with 0845 - or, WORSE - 0870 prefixes we're forced to endure in the *modern age!

    And it's called *progress ... !
