The point is, when you are in the situation of having the said disease, you will cling onto anything in order to cure yourself. It affects peoples mindset in different ways. I talked to people on the wards who decided to get alternative treatment instead of the chemo(which they said was unnatural), they died. Their family had to respect the decision.
People will go off to strange places and try new treatments to further science. It can be distressing for family members.
However, some people take advantage of this vulnerability. That is what I object to.
