From considerable experience you will need a copy of the Credit Card with Cathay. BUT make sure that the CVC (the 3/4 digit security number) is completely blanked out. Your BF's insurance would be invalid if the card was illegitimaely used and it was found to be because someone had used the card data based on getting the details from seeing the photocopy.
It is also a good idea to have a letter of authorization from your BF. Pro-forma below
