Speak out in Pinas theres all likelihood your going to disappear,a journalist friend told me there are stories the wise just dont pursue

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

True seen programes on that which most of the Fillipinas on here, plus My Wife and her pinay friends here moaned about

No wonder all the poltical disscussion programes in phill tend to be in English probably more alien non voters like me watching than locals

I doubt a show like question time would create the same amount of fuss in many countries. Where people who detest the BNP, debate to give them the right to speak or not depending on what they think.
Oh lord why did you make so many clothes and shoe shops

Now, I ask you brits, how many of you enjoy being told that you spelt a word wrong (albeit in your haste) . . .

Is this the kind of person you want to take tips from on "Life in the UK"?
I mean ... a bit of real life, if you were in cardiff, leeds, leicester, birmingham, wherever, would you appreciate some pedant on your shoulder correcting your petty mistakes? I mean, come on now, you all understand what I'm saying, even if I make a few mistakes along the line! The difference is : remember this ... I am happy! ,Life is good for me! I am not trying to sell a book, if I was, I would be really kind, coz, let's face it, who'd like to be the student of an author who was an ?
Look, I got nothing to sell you, I got no vested interest, my pedantic detractor however? . . . . troublemaker. It's hard here.
Hello James, I meant to reply to your previous post but then I changed my mind. So, when I noticed the wrong spelling, I thought I will just say that. It wasn't meant to insult. I make mistakes too and I wouldn't mind being corrected. Just linking it to the world-class education you're talking about.
I am learning everyday, and so should you and also learn how to take criticism.

some people, who have a somewhat loose grasp on the English language would like to challenge a native. They would even propose to correct the spelling of a native English speaker . . . an excellent marketing plan I should say.

I am beginning to think of you as a troll.

You are something of a fool. I mentioned in one of my early posts that I was educated in a New University - nothing in the league of Oxbridge, therefore to draw that comparison, you'd need to find an Oxbridge educated member of the forum then call them out.

To call me out, is to call into the question - YOUR - credibility - not mine!

You feel like a troll who's just here to sell your book

[QUOTE=somebody;183215]Hello somebody! If you will allow me, I just would like to make a comment here. Wife whatever nationality is a wife and will not always take criticism lightly. And so with husbands. Given -two people of different backgrounds, living under one roof, what do you expect? Of course, an argument! And to say they both come from different culture, that is a riot?! Don't you think?

Why should there be aruguments because there are people from two cultures I dont think we have ever had a riot

Hello somebody! When I said that, I am teasing a bit of course ...

Troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online discussion forum with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion

Who deviated from the topic. This is where you posted off topic and so this is where I will post mine. What do I love about UK, I will tell you, I love the people here in UK, the people who are not arrogant. The people who has manners. You said 'derogatory remarks' which obviously started it, and when you were criticized, you become personal.

I wonder would the eminent author bless tell us something about his/her self ... because so far, we're left with the image of a bookselling, irritating-correcting the spelling of natives dweeb troll. Would you like to sell us on you bless? Let us know about the nice side of you because, I'd love to hear.

Finally, in her annoying orange colour, she mentioned the things she actually likes about the country she's sellling books to tell you how to become permanent residents of (and yes, i know the grammar's bad, but I am a citizen so bleeeehhhhh)

so we're not arrogant. We wouldn't hold a simple hasty typing mistake in spelling against people!

Maybe it should be included in the next revision of the book, just sayin!

It is not challenging a native speaker. We are no match at all. And that is what I pointing out to you from the very start. This is our second language and so we can be full of errors ... and we are trying. We can never be compared. UP cannot be compared to any of your colleges. And to put it, do not make derogatory remarks.

Good, so then, we shall not have any more problems where you decide you wish to correct my English? That would be wonderful. An apology would be even better, although, i shall not hold out for such.

As I see it, you are selling the book and you are seeking to make money off this. You lost your credibility a while ago.

    I will accept an apology unreservedly . . .

Don't think that because the British people are "not arrogant" that you can treat us in a derogatory and disparaging way . . . but just remember this . . . the more you antagonise anyone in here, the less credibility your book receives . .

Well, thanks a lot for mentioning about it. I am not advertising, you are. I am not far off from the world-class education you started. It is not my crusade to be liked. I can be hated and I can be loved. The choice is theirs. What I go on about is the wrong perception and the derogatory remarks you've made about the Philippines. PROUD TO BE BRITISH as I say, should say about BRITISH. And not about loving/liking British and putting down Philippines at the same time. NO POINT OF COMPARISON.

James, I read your msg about peace. Don't you think you should make it here, right in this forum, where it started. As for apology - make it to the Filipino people. Try to be sensitive about just about anything.

Okay, there are so many things about our country that needs improvement. Are you going to help tear down or are you going to help build it? (figuratively speaking)
You are forgetting that in this FORUM it is not just us reading it. Anyone in the world is and you don't know them. You might upset people were you could be considered 'Persona non Grata' ... you never know. And don't forget, you are also bringing your wife. So, be very careful.

Dont you need to tear down before buliding often?

Lets bulid a new Phill where all are equal and treated fairly oh but dont be critcal of the present status quo?

Why would you want to improve something if its perfect and if its not perfect should the mases not pipe up? People power which the country has already seen can happen a bit of self belief is needed surely?

Now James for expressing his views is going to be in trouble Is that the UK or Phill or somewhere else?

Why does he need to apolgise to the Phillipine people possibly the senators and rich familes who have screwed the Country should give it ago first?

Hello somebody! You sounds funny. I did not say, he will be in trouble, or did I? I said, Be very careful. I tell you what ...

An actress Claire Danes, if my memory serves me right, was considered Persona non grata for a time bec of her stupid mistakes of commenting about pest in the slum area where she had movie filming. It is a slum area! She generalise the whole country where the whole international Community is watching ... a no no obviously ...

Let us stick to what James said, and that is what the apology should be about. He made derogatory remarks on .... ahh, do I have to enumerate. He should know it.

Senators and the like is another topic.

Lol, and the gist of the story is???
"10% of life is made up of what happens to you, 90% is decided by how you react"
"The way to love anything is to realize that it may be lost"
