I do like the weather here since we arrived from NY...the winter its not too bad compare in NY...but i miss the weather in the philippines during winter here..hehhehe
Your right, but come to think of it, my boyfriend said its not yet the worse cold, wait till December and January and let see if those exciting pinays will still not moaning about being cold cause I been from the country w/c the normal temperature is 29 and the coldest we had is 18
I live in Visayas, it's very humid here.
Those who are in mindanao will concur I think
A small part of the Philippines isn't overpoweringly humid . . . but the majority is!
I wasn't thinking about that when I was trying to navigate my way round manila with 40kg of luggage and no protection for my wallet in 35 degrees one time this year
My very first snow experience here was in Jan 25 2007 (huh! i still remember the date .lol.). I was so excited to see a white christmas in 2006 but not until after a month. I was awaken at 3:30 thought it was already sunrise. To my surprise the cars and roofs were blanketed by snow... I was so excited i have taken pictures at the wee hours of the morning.lol, went downstairs then the garden, went to the lounge,.... so excited i may say!

Hi September,
You're right being a filipino and used to a temperature of 18-29 degrees or 32degrees to the most and now experiencing the UK weather is really considered a drastic change for us. I think we don't have to moan, we just have to accept and do something to warm us up. Adjust the thermostat at home, wear proper clothes/outfit for the cold season. Wear thermal socks, shirts (if needed). No more outdoor activities.
In the Phils if we are in a humid place there are solutions to that as well. Some refrain from staying too much under the heat of the sun. Wear proper clothes for summer and have more fluid intake. Then turn on the AC. Some filipinos has their houses built in a sprawling type hence the cool air.
It is easier to warm up than to cool down?.. they say??
Don't you like the autumn? As you just arrived here a month ago? so are you not looking forward to the different seasons of this beautiful country?
When i first came here i was full of excitement, yes..... really very excited for these 4 seasonsand until now.. still excited ( i think this is normal for the first timers) because i was born in the country with only 2 seasons all year round but, I love the Phils no matter what...
Cheers
