Agency, CFO and letters etc

Hi everyone!
My wife and i decided early on that we would use an agency in Cebu to help with aplying for a visa for her and her daughter. one reason being her sister had used the agency to help with her USA visa and they were helpful, the other being they would help my wife get through the process by helping her in her own language. However i have some doubts now about there expertise with the uk.

I am about to go to the philippines end of this week and our plan is to go to Cebu to get the CFO seminar out of the way so we can get my wifes passport, before doing the visa application.

The agency are claiming we need 30+ hand written letters presumably to show we have a relationship. Well i havnt seen this mentioned on this forum so thought i would ask if anyone has any experience of this?

I might add that we decided on an agency BEFORE i found this forum, so please dont tell me we dont neeed the agency!

You really don't need 30 handwritten letters. In the old days that would have been legitimate advice, but if you have phone cards or bills, and have chat logs and emails and all that sort of stuff, you don't need to worry about all the handwritten material they ask of you. . . .

Hmmm, I have mixed feelings about using agencies for things like this, especially when it's not that hard to do yourself.

If it's a settlement visa, you can easily get any gaps in your knowledge filled in from this forum, and get the official word on the VFS website, by clicking on this link here!

You can actually access the full application form on here (click the link) and at the end there is a checklist of everything you need!

So, why use an agency mate? They'll just charge you for something you can do independently!

yep agencies are a waste of time and money, i found everything i needed in the search here or asked questions if i couldnt find it. good luck on your future application

*in case you didn't read what i said --- you DEFINITELY do NOT need 30 peices of written letters. I even linked to 2 official documents online! gosh please read ha? Then I also gave you my opinion on choosing an agency! Coz i'm good like that *
