It did help me and in fact I'm just waiting for my baby to come out in this big wide world. Be mindful of any changes on your body though. I agree i don't see anything bad in keeping fit and going to the gym when you're trying to get pregnant
but just be careful though, and make sure you don't do over-strenous physical activities and exercises
