    Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture

Here's a poser for all lovers of Classical Music:

How much do you know about this famous piece? ... penned in 1880 by Russian composer, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, to commemorate his country's defence of Moscow against the advance of Napoleon's Grand Army at the Battle of Borodino in the year 1812.

    Don't all rush at once ... ! :lol2:

    I didn't know there'd be questions . . . I didn't bring my notes sir, may I be excused?

The exam room here feels like a ghost town, maybe everyone's scared?

Americans relate to it as a piece of music played at many 4th July celebrations
...assuming that it was written to commemorate the 1812 War between the

I so love Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky! a great russian composer. But he was quite controversial. Many believed him to be gay but i dont care, I still love the composer and his works particulary the Violin Concerto in D Major Op. 36, Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture, Serenade for String Orchestra in C Major, Swan Lake, Nutcracker and of course the 1812 Overture

Well, what can I say about the 1812 Overture? its so d@mn hard piece!
