I'm on that too. The rule says one thing "without recourse to public funds" so she has to have a sponsor who can provide for her without using dole money. Just the rules. Or we would have everyone on the dole bring people over here.

Get a job and save up at least £3000 for a settlement visa. You have to act as her sponsor and provide for her. At present until I get job

Read this site here for more information.

you need to prove that you're solvent, that you have more coming in than is going out, and that you can look after the girl without recourse to dole money. It's a hard one, and I suggest directing your query to "JoeBloggs" or "Somebody" here on the forum.

Other than that: welcome to the forum.

Know how you feel. I got epilepsy&cancer. Got money for epilepsy but nothing for cancer.

The thing is, your lady must have the funds to be able to support herself when she is here. Read the rules carefully. I think you should not have much problem with a visit visa. Get to know each other first.

Have you actually met in person? If not you will not be able to help her apply for a visitor visa (or any other type of visa), she would have to apply on her own. Her chances of success depends on her circumstances.

If she did get a visitor visa she has to leave the UK before it expires even if you got married whilst she was here (which may not be possible anyway).

Once you have met in person being on income support doesn't stop you eventually sponsoring her for a settlement visa but like anyone else you need to have accomodation and enough money to support the both of you without claiming additional public funds.

See my previous message... if you haven't met you can't sponsor her, and no you can't switch from a visitor visa to a settlement visa within the UK.

Okay. first she might not get a visa for 6 months. Visit visa can vary. But you have to make a fresh application to this place in the Philippines:

VFS. know them and worship them ye are the gods of love if they let you go

Here are the prices of the many types of visa where do you fit in lad? Can you reply please

You need to get out there first. Sending her enough money to be able to apply for a visitor visa on her own (maybe £2K needed for a UK holiday?) isn't a good idea, and may not help anyway as the Embassy will wonder where the money came from. And just because she has enough money doesn't mean they will grant a visitor via anyway.

Why aren't you considering going out to see her first?

well i would, its just if i go see her for say a month, and then want to have her visit me in the uk and she cant get a visa,it would cause a lot of pain,so maybe we should stop it before we get too much involved

A visitor visa on her own (which she would have to do if she hasn't met you) is least likely to be successful (and a spouse visa is most likely to be successful). If you want your relationship to go anywhere you need to go to see first.

Though I can understand your concerns, and what you I guess you need to consider is can you sponsor her for a settlement visa? To sponsor her for a settlement visa you need accommodation (which you have) and enough spare money each month out of your existing income.

Just a little point. please realise it is not just how much money you have now. but.it will cost you quite a bit more. for example..maybe one or two times more visits out there.Wedding costs.visa costs.flights costs.settlements visa costs. So please do not rush into this without plenty of thoughts first. One other point some philippine family may want you or your"future wife" to help support them financially.

Sorry and shocked to hear that Any further news?

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.
