I will be married this January and I am starting to know some information and gathering papers/documents that would help my application. I hope to complete them by February so I could join my husband in UK.

Wow, congratulations! How's your preparation? Where are you going to have your wedding?

Here are the documents you need to prepare:

    Documents needed from your spouse

    1. Bank statement ( past 3 months - applicable to numbers 1-4 and 9)
    2. Credit card statement
    3. Utility bill
    4. Credit report
    5. Printed online bank statement
    6. Electoral card
    7. Address confirmation from the Electoral office
    8. Tenancy agreement - picture of his house
    9. July, August, Sept, Oct payslips
    10. Employment Contract
    11. Employment certificate
    12. Workers Registration Scheme
    13. Signed passport copy - photocopy (authenticated by your husband’s embassy)

Documents needed from the one applying:

    1. Recent passport size photo
    2. Current passport
    3. Photocopy of the biodata page of the current passport
    4. Evidence of income – Payslips, Income Tax
    5. Evidence of relationship ( photos, receipts, airfare tickets, IMPORTANT: Original Marriage Certificate)
    6. Email-Chat Transcripts
    7. Valid Visa (as I am working in another country)
    8. Ticket to UK
    9. Certificates from work
    10. Bank Statement
    11. Employment contract

Use VAF5 application form. You may also refer to the guidelines at the last page of that form.

Feel free to message if you have other questions.

Thanks for posting the documents you've submitted, it will be very useful to my application this coming year We have some of the documents ready but still sorting out the rental agreement. We printed a copy of the application (VAF5) and starting to fill it up, I am using it as my draft. It's very helpful, I can go through with the questions and review my answers.
    Congratulations again and thanks alot!
