    Relatives to the UK

    Hi there

I am a British male married to a Filipino and we live in Gloucester with our two kids... We have been here long enough that my wife now has been naturalised.

The question i have is that I wish to bring her younger sister to the UK on a permanent basis, but I am unaware of any legal way to do it. Is there any way that I can offer her the chance to better herself here in the UK?

Would appreciate any help we can get!

    Cheers

i think there is virtually no chance as a dependant of your wife, (i take it her sister has other family in the phils ? if so )

how old is her sister ?

maybe , depending on her age ,,

student visa ? maybe NVQ course ( will cost you ££)
find a husband in the uk
possibly move to another European country for a few months exercising your treaty rights, apply for a family permit for her, months later come to the uk.
    workpermit

I believe unless high skilled (master's degree?) a work permit or a student visa will no longer lead to permanent settlement in the UK.

yes masters degree needed for tier 1 now

student visa or workpermit may not lead to settlement on there own, but gives her time to meet mr right also she could after 10yrs apply for ilr under long residency rules but this with the 14yrs rule for illegals might be scrapped to soon.
