    I could take you to colleges located above rows of shops,you look up,see the "College" sign and just shake your head The country is flooded with bogus students,I have met loads,normally african,but they sure didnt come here to study,got a mate from Zimbabwe,used to work every hour god made and more beisdes while here as a student,his wife and kids are here now,did he come here as a legitimate student?Not according to him

    Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
    The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

    I wonder what slippery Immigration Minister Phil Woolas has got to say ? He's the grub who put ladies' clothing, tampons, comics and nappies on his expenses

    Very true it was said to me by one owner of a school in central london that half of Londons rental space above shops would be empty and the very shops and resturants below them would suffer if the colleges and all the no question asked cheap to employ employees dissapeared
    Oh lord why did you make so many clothes and shoe shops

    Yup,I saw one in Hounslow last year and thought it looked a prestigiously located seat of learning,you know....Oxford,Cambridge,Hounslow??????? Its true,it was right above a row of shops several of which were indian restaurants I sometimes wonder if the government view this country through a 100% lightproof blindfold,the general populance see whats going on,the ivory towers of westminster havent got a clue

    I think he's really a secret correspondent for the Daily Express, sent here to spread the tory doctrine and dish the dirt on labour. Either that or he's turning into Victor Meldrew.

    Tory, Labour ... or whatever ... they're all politicians. And, let's be frank, there's good, bad and ... the third lot [the majority, it seems!] who're just indifferent - regardless of WHICH party they claim allegiance to.

    It also seems to fit the young pretender David Cameron quite well.

    An Obituary Worthy of Reading

    An Obituary printed in the London Times - Interesting and sadly rather true.

    Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
    - Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
    - Why the early bird gets the worm;
    - Life isn't always fair;
    - and maybe it was my fault.

    Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).
    His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

    Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

    It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

    Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

    Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

    Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

    Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.

    He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;
    I Know My Rights
    I Want It Now
    Someone Else Is To Blame
    I'm A Victim

    Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

    I can see where your coming from Dom, but I can't for the life of me understand why you think David Cameron and the tories are going to be the answer to everyone's prayers.

    Given their track record the last time round I certainly don't think they'll be better for the country as a whole. They'll just invent more boltholes for the rich to stash their money without paying tax and have some very popular flotations of whatever we have left that's worth selling off, which will cost us all a lot more in the end.

    They believe in "small government" and they're instinct is to cut, cut and cut again. In normal times they would cut what they thought the could get away with, but when the whole country knows we're going to need cuts to bring us out of the red, they'll come into power with what they see as a mandate to cut anything and everything that's not bolted down, they'll end up throwing the baby out with the bathwater and we'll all be a lot poorer for it in real terms when we have to pay privately to get some of things we used to get for free and take for granted.

    You have to remember that whatever they say now (to get elected), they still at heart believe as maggie did that there is no such thing as society, just individuals and the individuals that they will look after are "their people" as maggie used to call them.

    Cut, cuts, cuts where they are needed, they don't hide it at all, but candidly admit to that. So where is the sin...???
    Without cuts, you cannot repay the national debt incurred by your friendly neighbourhood useless Labour, mostly, "unelected" moronic and cretinous Government.
    The baby and the bathwater are already out, courtesy of Gordon and Co.
    so please stop patronising me, I have been around long enough, and paid enough taxes to know the difference. And by now, I think I know when somebody like your labour friends are telling porkies.... New Labour ... My . Call it what you want, socialism and communism are great in theory, but in real life don't work.

    Don't they all...????

    Maggie.... Don't forget that that great woman started something in the UK which is the model in a lot of other places....
    Besides, when the tories imploded, due to own suicidal behaviour, they had the good grace of leaving the country without debts, and a Treasury awash with cash..... Where has it all gone........????

    Coppers came around within minutes when called, doctors called at home if there was an emergency, surgeries saw people on spec, dentists where taking NHS patients......
    Don't start me off or it becomes a rant.

    I thought one of Tony Bliars idols was Maggie?

    While the Tories have their cronies, a hell of a lot of people have become seriously rich and powerful with Labour in power.

    So many people in Jobs where they dont have enough to do and titles and roles they dont even understand I kid you not as I have had some who during small talk cant explain what they are actually meant to do.

    I can remeber Visting plush offices in Hospitals, famous Unis in central London, while the public facing areas were all run down I can list them if you really want.

    I can remeber having to visit A and E departments struggling to keep going while in the same building swanky offices were left not fully used while the projects which were poorly managed by people who simply didn't know what they were doing and frankly didn't seem to care.

    As I have said he before our Salespeople and all the others were like vultures round Public services as the negotiation skills they came up agaisnt were very poor and most of the contracts were so weighted in the favour of the Sales company it was untrue.

    The management were treated like Gods while the oiks doing the work were treated like the public. That was after ten years or more of labour.
    I cant belive what management types in Public bodies expect in perks working for a company where the turnover is greater or equivalent to many of the authorities these people manage. The Directors at our place manage with out Drivers and certainly dont need them on 24 hour standby which I have actually witnessed. They dont need to have free meals while the workers pay They dont need home offices kitted out! They dont need Spare mobile Phones (told to me by the IT department at one large Council in London)

    I could go on with things I have witnessed with my own eyes and heard from people with no reason to lie or make it up.

    Those in power red or Blue will always look after themsleves. Neither can cover themseleves in any Glory

    From what i see we need the Blue and red to neutralise the other
    Oh lord why did you make so many clothes and shoe shops

    Ian,

    Being a "Foreigner" in this country, I am no tory and no labour, I just see things from a different perspective .
    I have my own mind and don't follow party doctrines.
    I haven't been brainwashed with rhetoric.

    So please, refrain from insulting my intelligence
