I wonder should i book a hotel then??Ii was going to do it before i made it to the airport i suppose i may as well try get one when i get their, what do you think will hotels give you your money back??

I don't know, you have to ask the hotel about this special case, just know that Airlines will not give you any compensation in case of weather problem leading to cancel or divert flights.

Take a parchute & raft just in case......if it's last minute, you'll only get half-way to HK on the remaining fuel
