It was English Bird who went to Manila. I'm going on 8th December to meet my friend Emil and staying until 29th. I will test you when I return to see if you have remembered that name .....
Hi Everyone.
It was me Englishbird who went to Manila for a week to see my BF. I am still completely spaced out, but I will attempt to tell you abit about my trip. Not too much though, cos I don't want to bore you all
I flew to Manila with cathay pacific via Hong Kong, they were great. They even landed early in Manila! I was dreading Manila airport as I have read so many horror stories about that place, but I collected my luggage and was out of the airport within 30 mins and with no hassle. I did feel like I was being stared at abit but that may have been my imagination!
I had arranged to meet Edwin at the passenger waiting area at the letter E but he decided to wait at the letter T. So i had a few minutes of panic, thinking that he hadnt come to meet me, plus I couldnt call him cos my mobile decided it wasn't going to work there.
We stayed at the Somerset Salcedo in Makati, I would highly recommend it. It is serviced apartments rather than a hotel. The staff were great, nothing was too much trouble.
I really liked Manila and found the people really friendly. We went to Greenbelt, Mall Of Asia, Star City and a few other places around that area. The only complaint I would have is the traffic!!.Oh my god! I have never seen traffic like it, it was a continuous rush hour,
Next time I go it will be for longer than a week and we will go out of Manila. so I can see some more of the country. I won't see my BF again now until July. When I will go to his cruise ship in Alaska to see him. Thats such a long time to wait!
Englishbird
Am not surprised that your still spaced out as I guess must have felt a bit jet-lagged there and by the time you were feeling back to normal it was nearly time to come home again!
We are very careful not to get caught. This will be the 4th time that I have visited him on a ship. It was a bit risky last time as my cabin was only a few doors way from the bridge. Theres no pressure from me, its entirely up to him if he wants to visit my cabin, if not I just sit and chat to him where he is working.
Hi
I paid just over £500 for the week in a one bedroomed apartment. They also have studios which are cheaper and 2 and 3 bedroomed apartments. Breakfast was included in the price, as was internet access. The rooms come with a full kitchen with microwave, cooker and plenty of cutlery and crockery. There was also a dining room table and 4 chairs, 2 seater sofa and arm chair, tv, dvd player and cd player.
My only complaint, no tv in the bedroom!!
