as you've already said you've been looking for a while and not found a job, the ECO could say your savings will not last long to support you both in the ukand your wife might need recourse to public funds..
take any job, as long as you have a few payslips your chances of getting the visa increase.

I've got an interview coming up on tuesday! I just hope it goes well.

As regards the spousal visa, I'm hesitant to speculate further at this stage ... in the light of what Joe has said. But it might be of some comfort to you to learn that my wife, Myrna was granted hers ... in spite of me being a retiree when she applied last January. Keep us posted, my friend.
