Would you include these in your parcel?

I was going to send a balikbayan box, but there wasn't enough time for it to get there in time for Christmas, so am using a courier service. I have 2 quotes which are not too bad and both of the courier booking companies use DHL, but one of the quotes is a bit cheaper, but says these are in the prohibited list: "Tobacco and tobacco products / Drugs / Medicines". Does this mean things like paracetemol/cold/flu tablets etc are prohibited as well? Now the other courier quote says on the prohibited list "Legal drugs and pharmaceutical products over £250 in value", so that seems like you can send paracetemol/cold/flu tablets as long as the value isn't over £250, but annoyingly this service is more expensive as the insurance is on top instead of included like it is with the cheaper quote.

Strangely enough, like I mentioned they both use DHL, so it sounds like it's the courier booking company, rather than the actual courier company (DHL in this case) who are making the restrictions as their prohibited lists are different! If I used the cheaper quote would you risk putting in the paracetemol/cold/flu tablets etc? Of course I can put them inside other items which will be wrapped as they are presents, so they would only know if they opened the box and then unwrapped the presents and inspected them.

Have you checked whether DHL actually have these mentioned in their T & C's. In my experience of using parcel booking companies they have no involvement other than setting up the deal and collecting your ££'s - my packages have been picked up direct by ParcelFarce and DHL

Oh, actually the prohibited list that said: "Legal drugs and pharmaceutical products over £250 in value" is actually DHL's actual prohibited list, it seems like the other courier booking company using DHL have made up their own list for some reason which is different to DHL's one.

I'd go ahead and include them in the parcel
