    Invitaion letter

I hope you guys can just share some of your experience with me in regard to an invitation letter in preparation for my Mahal's visa application.

I sent an email to the Immigration Dept, whos suggested the invitaion letter as below:

If you are sponsoring the visit, a simple letter of invitation would be helpful. It does not need to be notarised or otherwise certified.

    The letter should set out:

    - the writer's relationship to the visitor

    - why the visit is at this time

    - how long the visitor is expected to stay

    - whether food and/or accommodation will be provided

    - what other costs, if any, the sponsor will meet.

The letter may be addressed either "To Whom it May Concern" or to the person being sponsored.

It should be sent to the visitor to pass on to the Entry Clearance Officer concerned via the local visa application centre.

It seems a bit 'clinical' to be honest, I mean, I do not have a problem writing such a letter, but from the specified areas, it looks like it is just a jump through the hoop letter to me.
Can anyone share a similar letter (blank out as appropriate) to give me more of an idea please.

    thanks
    Steve

These letters are important cant advise on visit visas as never applied for one. But for a spouse visa the cover letter as i knew it which i addressed to the ECO basically went over all the points i thought the eco would need to grant the Wife a Visa. I.e we would not be a burden on public funds, that we would be self sufficent more detail about my accomdation etc.

To me it should make the ECO's task basically a formality as all his or her questions are answered in a single document.
Oh lord why did you make so many clothes and shoe shops

Either. You can address it to your girlfriend inviting her to the UK, or you can address it to the ECO explaining how you are going to sponsor the visit.

also you better mention if your g/f works, what property she owns, what savings if any she has and reasons why she will return to the phils after her visit. or you might get what many people get a refusal, and with limited rights to appeal thou as you will be sponsoring her this shouldn't matter but if will not stop them refusing her

    Good info Joe, thanks.

She works in Singapore right now, she has her own house, on her own lot and a sari sari store,(all bought and paid for in her village in Phil') so she is doing ok for herself already without me. But, it can only strengthen the case if this is mentioned too. thanks
