    Interesting read on scammers.........

    I wonder Mr Toors age

MANILA – Singer-actress Karylle has expressed her sympathy to an American who was reportedly scammed by a Filipina in the Internet.

Karylle said she felt bad for American Allan Toor.

Toor was reportedly duped by a Filipino woman who used the actress-singer's photo to lure her victims in a dating Web site.

Reports identified the suspect as 29-year-old Arkishra Toribio Manuel.

Toor, who fell in love with the suspect, had reportedly asked Manuel to marry him, and then sent her around P100,000 to process her papers.

The American only found out about the scam when Manuel failed to show up at the airport in the United States on October 16, the scheduled arrival of the suspect. This prompted Toor to file a complaint against Manuel before a local police.

When she learned that someone was using her photo in a dating Web site, Karylle said she initially thought that it was a joke. She said she only learned about the gravity of the situation after reading the reports about the scam.

She told “The Buzz:” “Siyempre naaawa ako doon sa taong puso niya [binigay niya], nagbigay pa siya ng pera. Foul na.”

She maintained that, although times are hard these days, nobody has the right to deceive others.

“Kailangan hindi tayo gumagawa ng masamang bagay at nanggagamit pa tayo ng ibang tao. Siyempre dindadaya mo pa ang ibang tao,” she added.

Karylle said as of now she is not yet thinking of filing a case against Manuel for unauthorized use of her photo.

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

Two things are amusing about the story, firstly the guy expected her to turn up in the statessecondly because the pic used was a pinay "Celebrity" the police managed to trace and name the scammer

Quite a big giveaway is that if the photos look a bit too professional and look as if they were taken in a studio & not the type of photo taken by your average snapper. Of course it doesn't necessarily mean that they aren't genuine, but means you should at least have your guard up and ask for more & yo chat on webcam. If they have professional looking photos but say they don't have much money then this is another red flag as they wouldn't be able to afford professional studio photos if they don't have much money. I've seen photos of south-east Asian models used before as well.

I did see one site where there was 45 photos of known scammers on each page and there was 250 pages!

I think if you check any of those dating sites there will be loads of photos of actresses on there so def use a webcam and never send money before meeting!!
