In the middle, if you are sick the doctor must say he is sick and not you (of course if it's women specific pronlems, it will not be possible...). My doctor did this for us, and good for my Wife he speaks English (easier, as translating medical things is not easy for me).
Just avoid any big medical issue in the meantime.
