amendment of passport

Hi Shiera,

Please correct me if I am wrong, I wanted to have my passport amendment of name in a machine readable passport last October so I can use my married name before applying for my residence visa, but I found out the Emabassy no longer do this, instead you have to apply for a renewal, and renewal period takes 4- 6 weeks, I also thought they do it in a day.

But please do check it maybe it has changed, I did not pushed through with it cos I am taking holiday next month and worried my passport maybe be delayed if I applied.

I do live in central London, and the Emabassy is just right behind where I work, do you like me to check for you again?

hi beth!thanks for the info but i really dont know about that,i just thought its posible but this morning i heard from a friend also that as youve said they dont amend machine readable passport instead they will renew,but perhaps we will try to check it again with them.if that will be the case,then it will be a very long wait then,before i can apply for the FLR?and it would mean that it will take a long time too till i can apply for a job?
