Internet cafe rendezvous v sending money for laptop

Hi to all again,

Thanks for all your great advice on previous thread. Have decided to rise early on my days off so i can speak to Suzie when she's between shifts (2pm-6pm Phils time). Means I have to get up about 6.30am, but hey, a small price to pay for her relative safety. On the days I work we are gonna stick to phone calls (I've got the cheap rate numbers so this should be ok on the pocket)

I'll see how this goes for a while & may still send money for the laptop, but at least in the interim we have a workable solution to Suzie's late night plight!

Last time I was in the UK, after Marvie's old laptop broke. I bought one of these Dell Mini 10V, I think it cost 200 quid and took it to the Philippines for her. It is perfect for her, and stops her going out late at night.
I'd highly recommend it.

I think you are doing the right thing, for the time being.
You can always review the situation, as time progresses.

Sounds like things are going well, so save your pennies for that trip out there in april.

Make sure the laptop or netbook has a webcam, or get one to go with it

You'll need it.. And those USB internet dongles can sometimes strain with yahoo messenger and a couple of webcams open Been there many times when the thing just refuses to allow someone else to see it over the net...
