It wouldn't surprise me if some Filipinos are suffering from a bit of SAD (seasonal affective disorder) -I mean if even affects quite a few of us Brits, so if you're used to a much warmer and sunnier climate with longer daylight hours, it must even harder for them here.
I find brighter sunnier weather make me much happier, everywhere looks nicer, more alive and the countryside prettier-it kind of makes you want to go out and come alive more!

I really hate dull, dark days which of course you get more in the winter -it makes you want to stay inside and as it's the winter, the countryside is not so pretty and colourful even if you do go out. I love summers and also spring, but I really don't like winters just because I'm happier in brighter, sunnier and warmer weather (not too hot though!) and of course the nearer to summer, the more daylight hours you get and the more time to do things outside.
You can buy lights for SAD which are meant to work as they give you bright light that you are missing in the winters (& even in summers her sometimes!) and you just put them on near where you are sitting for a certain amount of time a day. You can also buy alarm clocks with similar lights, that come on very dully about 20 minutes before the alarm wake-up time and gradually get brighter & brighter leading up until the alarm goes off. This is meant to be like waking up more naturally to the brightness of the day in the spring, summer & autumn and helps you feel better when you do wake as you wake-up gradually instead of being fast asleep in the darkness and waking up with a shock to the alarm-I hate that!
I think Amazon sells quite a few of the SAD lights and light alarm clocks.
Now I'm just awaiting for Keith's amusing response!
