Out of interest, are you allowed to book a civil wedding ceremony before you get the license itself. In other words, I intend to visit phili for 2 to 3 weeks and apply for a license to marry but it would be good to secure a judge and date for getting married ASAP while waiting for the license to arrive (during that +10 working day period).
That way we could get the license and hopefully marry while I am still there. But 3 weeks is a long time to be in Phili when I have a business to run in the UK.
You can still get married in the span of 3weeks. It only takes 10 business days ( excluding sunday) to request for marraige license. The first thing you need to do when you arrive, submit your CNI the next day, be sure to come early at the UK embassy @ The Fort. They are usually open at around 7:45am, M-F. Pay the fee. I think i have paid about 6k last April. And if possible, go straight to the municipality office, where you and your intended are goin to apply for your marraige license. She needs to bring her cenomar and birth certificate. I was only charge 350pesos if my memory serves me right. Then that's it.. and also, you both need to attend the required seminar. I got married in church, and i only paid 5k pesos, that's a package that includes, the priest fee, the flowers, red carpet and the choirs.
I thought the CNI + BC is submitted at the local Civil Registra and not the UK embassay; I got my CNI in the UK already.
I believe you will have to exchange that CNI in your British Embassy here in the Philippines for a local copy, that's what the civil registrar requires.
Though you do not write books, you are the writer of your life. Because everything depends on YOU.
I call them fixers inside municipality.
Some municipalities offered free marriage Ceremony. We have that every Valentines Day and we call it Mass Wedding.
What municipality you are Liane.
That is too much and you'll make them happy for sure.
Usually, it really takes a month for municipality to forward their files(Birth Cert,Death Cert, Marriage cert) to NSO because they need to gather more files and they can save a fortune if they will do that way.
But you can also take your Marriage Certificate direct to NSO Office if you will ask them an endorsement letter from your local civil Registrar. Take the papers with you and forward it directly to Office of Director/Higher ups if you really want rush. But please do not tolerate them in doing so.
They can give you the same day your NSO authenticated copy.
Look for your nearest NSO Office.
I have done that before and there was no problem at all. I just ordered 2 cakes for the office.
