    Bolton Market

Thanks for your piece about Billingsgate South-East Boy, I remember my grandad telling me about making trips to Smithfield, filling the car boot with meat, and driving back to his home in Islington (before it got posh). Anyway, up here in the North, Bolton Market is a great place to visit. There are a large number of fish and meat stalls, one selling Mediterranean stuff, and a couple of East-Asian stalls with some Philippine products. Just one thing though, I was looking forward to some hot, steaming cooked black pudding. I asked an old chap where the stall was and was told "Nay lad, there's nowt here, that's at Bury Market". Ah well, I know where to visit next.
